Heyo!

A whirlwind of an August has come and gone and here we stand in the waning days of summer.

Thank you all for an incredible release for ‘Sparrows Sing of Dying.’ Reader reactions to book two of The Tides That Reign series have been overwhelming! That said, I have some big news about the saga and the future of my books in general.

The Big News

The short of it is that I have decided to part ways with Midnight Meadow Publishing, who formerly owned the rights to publish The Tides That Reign series. What happened is a long story full of broken promises, falling short of expectations, undelivered orders, and a failure to pay royalties. I was not singled out; it was a publisher-wide issue. So, needless to say, I thought it best to seek termination of my contract.

My books have since been removed from the Midnight Meadow Publishing website, and rights to the series have reverted to me. That said, if you pre-ordered ‘Sparrows Sing of Dying’ through the publisher and they collected your payment, they still owe you your copy (or copies).

As we parted ways, I specifically asked them whether they had the capability to fulfill orders, and was assured that they did. So, if your order is not fulfilled and you cannot get ahold of Midnight Meadow Publishing, please inform me.

Looking to the Future

While this may not have been the outcome I was hoping for, I am still incredibly proud of The Tides That Reign series and fully intend to release the last two installments myself.

Self-publishing is a more challenging path than having a publisher. Therefore I humbly request that anyone out there who has read my works and enjoyed them, please help me share that enjoyment! Leave a review on Amazon, Goodreads, or wherever you look for books online. Recommend my novels to people you know who like to read. Share a link to my website. The first installment, Design of Darkness, is always free to anyone who signs up for my newsletter.

I hate to shamelessly plug myself, but this is the only way that self-published authors succeed. Over a million books are published every year, and it’s easy to get lost in all the noise. We stand out when readers use their voices to help us.

I hope you all are having a wonderful start to September. Personally, I can’t wait for autumn to begin! There’s nothing like curling up under a blanket on a cold night with a good book and a mug of something to keep you warm. Until next time, happy reading!
