Heyo!

I know we’ve still got quite a big chunk of summer to go (and here in the California central valley we’ll be trudging through at least two more months of 90+ degree weather) but the second half of August always gets me in the mood for Autumn.

I don’t know if it’s because all the big stores are pushing cute and cozy Halloween decor, or if it’s that I’m simply fed up with the heat, but I get into Fall mode way too early. Big sweaters come to mind, warm spiced candles, wearing pants…

It’s a whole thing.

Bookish Things

The proofs for the standard editions of In the Wake of the Blade have arrived and they’re quite a sight to behold! The dazzling cover illustrations by Maria Areta look incredible in print, and the chunky spines have such a satisfying weight to them. It’s really something to see all the books in the series side-by-side.

I harp on this a lot, but it’s so surreal and rewarding to end seven years of writing all printed, bound, and put together like this. Now that it’s completed, The Tides That Reign feels simultaneously like the most monumental task I’ve ever undertaken, and like it flew by in an instant.
